The Gap was founded in San Francisco, 1969 originally as a retailer for denim mainly stocking popular Levi's jeans (and continuing to do so until 1991). It wasn't until the 1970s-1980s that Gap started producing their own casual pieces and launching sub-brands like Banana Republic and Old Navy. Gap gained a huge cult following through the 1990s with the popular logo hoodies and t-shirts and by pioneering the smart-casual styles that was sweeping the U.S. trends at the time. However, around the turn of the millennium their design team also experimented with a few different styles, drawing inspiration from technical and military influences and producing high quality pieces that now leave many impressed when they see a Gap label on the inside.

This particular piece from the early 2000s period features a tight-weave exterior construction  with panelled fleece and nylon interior lining for warmth regulation. There is a central dump pocket accessible via zips on both sides. The fleece-lined hood and hem are both adjustable for desired fit.

Great condition with some minor signs of wear and age.

Measurements:

Pit to pit: 28”

Shoulder to hem: 34”
